UW-Fond du Lac Holiday Concert set for Dec. 21
Fond du Lac, Wis. The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac Music Department will present their annual Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 in the Prairie Theater, 400 University Drive.
This year’s event, Readings and Carols of the Season, will feature the Fond du Lac Chamber Singers and the vocal jazz ensemble U-FiDeLity directed by Patricia Eby, associate dean and music professor plus the UW-Fond du Lac College Chorus directed by Cara Davis, music lecturer.
Joining the singers for selected readings will be members of the campus community and area community.
“The readings will focus on the themes of light, love and hope and will include the winter solstice, winter, Hanukkah, the prophecy and birth of Jesus and contemporary reflections on the holiday themes,” said Eby. “The carols have been chosen to reflect the message of the readings and include familiar carols and non-traditional works.”
The audience will be invited to sing traditional carols during the program and to join in caroling with refreshments in the University Center Commons after the concert.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students in advance. UW-Fond du Lac students are admitted free with student ID. Tickets can be purchased at the UW-Fond du Lac business office (Mon.- Fri., 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) or by phone at (920) 906-6350. Tickets purchased at the door are $2 more.
