working at a fast pace, focusing on one subject for the day
WHERE: UW-FDL – Meet in the Commons at 8:45 am
WHEN: Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm

The Super Saturday! Fee is $49 and includes all instruction and supplies.

Scratch 1.4 Programming
Instructor: John Papenheim, MPTC programming and electronics
Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art—and share your creations on the web. Get a glimpse of how a Wii or Xbox game was created. Create your own characters for the game, or even put your own toys or face into the game.

The Actor in You
Instructor: Kevin Miller, Executive Director-Windhover Center for the Arts
Theater games and fun acting exercises will bring out the actor within in new, creative ways. This class is open to anyone, especially if you have no acting experience. Join us and have a blast!!

“Green” Holiday Book/Journal
Instructor: Alice Tzakais, North Fond du Lac art instructor
Using environmentally friendly products, we will reuse, create, personalize and transform items to create an elegant handmade book/journal. Learn simple processes to fill the pages of your journal/book with exciting visual elements. Bring an art shirt or wear clothes you can paint in.

Exotic Japan
Instructor: Shoko Yukioka
Your ticket to Exotic Japan will include brush and ink calligraphy along with the preparation and presentation of a Japanese tea ceremony. Learn the Japanese art of paper folding called Origami using geometric folds and crease patterns. This is a one-of-a-kind experience.

A Holiday Kitchen
Instructor: Christine Frank, Woodworth Middle School instructor
Many holiday memories revolve around the kitchen. Gain first hand culinary experience and surprise your family and friends with beautiful cookies and candies that you baked and decorated yourself.

Fusing Fun!
Instructor: Trista Holz, UW-Fond du Lac continuing education art instructor
Be part of this fun class creating unique presents for special people! Learn the basics of “warm glass fusing” while making colorful art projects...keep for yourself, or give them as gifts. Students will safely learn fundamentals of kiln formed glass. Techniques covered will be: glass cutting, design arrangement, color coordination, and project finalization. All glass classes are tailored for children, boys as well as girls; no prior experience necessary.”
