No one has the innate ability to know how to study! This 8 hour class will help you succeed in and outside the classroom when you link yourself to success through a positive school outcome. Using effective study skills helps you will learn to develop good study habits, maintain a hopeful attitude about studies and realize that studying does not have to be dreaded. Specific topics will include: succeeding academically – general guidelines; self discovery -- how do you learn?; time management; how, where and why to study; classroom participation and note taking; test taking skills; staying motivated and goal setting; and staying on track without derailing. Fee: $69 includes all instruction, pizza and a soft drink. Register with a friend and you each pay $60. Full and partial scholarships provided based upon free or reduced lunch eligibility. INTRODUCTION TO ALICE 2.0 PROGRAMMING
Learn how to write three-dimensional animation and game programs while learning object-oriented programming principles at the same time. If you're a novice programmer who wants to master programming concepts like decisions, loops, methods, and arrays, this course is for you! Learn: about the 3-D Alice world, and practice placing objects in it; how to move, turn, and rotate objects in a 3D space; about quad view windows, how to move multiple objects, and how to animate parts of objects to create more-realistic object movements; change the look of your objects, and add sound to give your Alice world multimedia appeal, and so much more! When you're finished, you'll be able to apply these concepts to other programming languages, like Java, C++, C#, or Visual Basic.
