| About Our Instructors
Benjamin Blanc has been a player for the Fond du Lac Rugby men's team since 2002. He is the youth development responsible for Fond du Lac Rugby Inc and had developed and managed several youth rugby camps since 2006. He was the coordinator of the Fond du Lac Rugby World Cup tour in France in September 2007.
JonMark Bolthouse is an automation librarian for UW-Colleges. Steve Brachman currently serves as the Waste Reduction and Management Specialist and Distinguished Lecturer for the University of Wisconsin-Extension Solid & Hazardous Waste Education Center. He is primarily responsible for providing technical assistance and educational programs for pollution prevention, energy conservation, and solid and hazardous waste management projects for consumers, business and local governments in Wisconsin.
Sara Cujak is a former middle and high school Social Studies instructor. She now owns Cujak’s Wine Market in Fond du Lac. Sara’s wine courses are a culmination of her passion for education and great wines.
Matthew Doll, PhD, is a psychologist and owner of Doll & Assocaites, S.C. Matt is trained in corporate consulting, specializing in team building and increasing work team productivity.
Tom Eggert, PhD, has a Master of Public Administration from UW-Madison and a Juris Doctor Degree from George Washington University. He is a senior lecturer at the School of Business, UW-Madison. He has published numerous sustainability articles.
Sandra Gabert, retired North Fond du Lac School District K-5 music instructor, has taught piano and voice through the college level. She has both bachelors and masters degrees in Music Education and Applied performance from the University of Wisconsin.
Lenore Gerhartz, R. Y. I., has 30 years experience instructing yoga. She has trained in India and with many teachers worldwide.
Edward J. Hopkins, PhD, has received his degrees from UW-Madison: BS in Chemistry, MS in Science Education and PhD in Meterology. He is the assistant state climatologist for the Wisconsin State Climatology Office, Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at UW-Madison. He is coauthor of Wisconsin’s Weather and Climate.
Anita Klatkiewicz is a Spanish lecturer throughout the University of Wisconsin Colleges. She has traveled extensively throughout Mexico.
Pamela Koehn uses intuitive leadership to help clients uncover their innate capacity for happiness. Pamela holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lakeland College and has 18 years of experience in training and leading people. She is currently a Feng Shui practitioner and owner of Intentionsa wellness gift shop located in Kohler, Wisconsin.
Dan Kohler is the head of Wisconsin Environment, a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization which does independent research and generates practical ideas and tough-minded advocacy on environmental problems, including global warming.
Lakshman Guruswamy, PhD, the Nicholas Doman Professor of International Environmental Law at the University of Colorado at Boulder, was born in Sri Lanka, and is one of the world’s recognized experts in International Environmental Law. He teaches International Environmental Law, International Energy Law at CU, and is widely published in these subjects in legal and scientific journals.
Craig Larson is the UW-FDL Men’s Soccer Coach.
Leah LeClaire, a former co-captain of the UW-Oshkosh Women’s Gymnastics team, now instructs gymnastics at both the Oshkosh Gymnastics Center and at UW-FDL. Her UW gymnastics staff consists primarily of UW-Oshkosh women’s gymnastic team members.
Paul Linzmeyer is Industry Chair of the Wisconsin Global Warming Task Force and is also Chair of the Bay Area Workforce Development Network. As President of Green Bay Towel and cofounder of Ecolutions, he has extensive experience in sustainable business, particularly as it relates to global warming.
Senator Mark Miller is chair of the Senate Committee on Environmental and Natural Resources. Senator Miller, 16th District, and Representative Spencer Black, have introduced major legislation designed to combat
global warming by reducing greenhouse gases in Wisconsin. Senator Miller is chair of the Senate Committee
on Environmental and Natural Resources.
Cheryl Mohr has many years of experience in athletics programming. She has a B.S. from the University of Arkansas and holds a state teaching certificate. She is president of Higher Level Camps.
John Oesteicher believes in the healing power of positive thought. He has been studying and practicing meditation and healing for 15 years. John teaches and practices the holistic art of Reiki; a Japanese form of relaxation and stress reduction, which promotes healing and strengthens the immune system. He is the owner of Hands On Healing Energy, an alternative therapy business dedicated to helping people maintain
perfect health.
Beth Olson teaches phy ed at Lakeshore Elementary School in Fond du Lac. She has developed and grown the tee-ball program at UW-Fond du Lac.
Mark C.E. Peterson, PhD, has received both his MA and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto. Environmental ethics and metaphysics have been central research interests beginning in graduate school and continuing through his dissertation and into later publications and professional presentations. He is an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin Washington County
Gloria Schroeder has been a violinist for 45 years. She has played in the Oshkosh Symphony, Fond du Lac Chamber Orchestra, and Summer Sing Along Orchestra among others. She has taught in public schools as an orchestra director and string instrument teacher.
John Scotello is an assistant professor of art at UW-Fond du Lac. Professor Scotello shows his figurative paintings throughout the country, has published his illustrations in the millions world wide, and is known for his expertise in drawing and painting from life.
Alice Tzakais has an undergraduate degree in art education from Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, and a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in multicultural art studies from Marian College, Fond du Lac. She is an art instructor with the North Fond du Lac School District and has over 20 years experience in art instruction.
John Young, PhD, Director, Wisconsin State Climatology Office, has held this office for seven years. He is a Professor of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at UWMadison. His research has focused on large scale fluid
dynamics of the atmosphere and ocean; theory and modeling; and climate processes. His work in the State Climatology office focuses on new climate analyses and the development of collaborations to assess regional climate change and impacts
