Tuition and fees are expected to be:

Advance Tuition Deposit

Before registering for classes in any fall or spring semester, students must pay a $100 Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD).

The deposit is not a fee, and is applied to your tuition balance.

The ATD is refundable if you withdraw from all classes before July 1 (fall classes) or December 1 (spring classes). When you pay the ATD and register for classes, you are considered financially committed to UW-Fond du Lac and are responsible for your tuition balance unless you officially withdraw from the university within the 100% refund period.

Payment Options
 

Students will not be sent a paper invoice via the mail. Students must check their account status via their PRISM account. Failure to receive an invoice does not relieve you of your obligation to pay your tuition and fees.

Tuition and fees must be paid by the end of the 10th day of classes for the fall and spring terms. Click here for other important payment dates. Payments may be made online via your PRISM account, through the mail, or at the campus Business Office, If mailing your payment, please allow adequate time to ensure delivery to the Business Office by the payment deadline. Please write your student I.D. number on your check. If you are expecting financial aid and it has not yet been credited to your account, you must still make arrangements with the Business Office. In a very limited number of cases, tuition and fee payments can be deferred until the aid arrives. Deferments are only issued by the Business Office.

Credit cards and web-check payment options are available via your PRISM account.

• Tuition rates for 2008-09 are $205 per credit (If online courses are dropped, tuition is refunded according to the standard tuition refund schedule).
  
• $60.00 non-refundable registration fee for each course. This fee is only refundable if the online course is dropped prior to the close of course registration.

Partial Payment Plan
The Partial Payment Plan application is a contract with the University. It is a legal document and therefore, you must be 18 years old at the time you sign the document. Proof of birth is required; a driver's license, birth certificate or other legal document showing birth date is needed. If a student is not 18 years or older, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign the document. If a student is 18 years or older, the student must sign the contract, the parent may not sign for the student.

The Partial Payment Plan application must be made in person at the Business Office by the end of the 10th day of classes. There is a down payment of $200 (includes a non-refundable $25 one-time enrollment charge) payable when you sign the agreement. The remaining balance is divided into two equal payments. There is a late installment fee of $25 for each payment that is late. There is no grace period. Interest is charged at 1.25% per month on the outstanding balance after the last installment payment is due. Withdrawing from the University does not eliminate your legal financial obligation to pay the remaining installments.

Late Fees
Students not making payment arrangements or receiving an approved deferment of tuition and fees by the end of the 10th day of classes will be charged a $100 late fee. Your Advance Tuition Deposit will be used to cover this fee. A $32 charge will be added to a student's account for checks returned for any reason.

Audit Fees
The academic fee charged for individuals who register for ONLY non-credit, audit credits is as follows:

• Wisconsin Residents Under Age 60 - $53.00 per credit
  
• Wisconsin Residents Age 60 or Older - Normal per credit academic fees waived.
  
• Nonresidents - $234 per credit.
  
• Minnesota Reciprocity - $49 per credit.

Notes: Audit students are required to pay Special Course Fees, if included in the class for which they are enrolled. Audit fees do not apply when a combination of audit and credit courses are taken. Credit fees then apply.

Tuition Reimbursement
Many area employers provide support for employees, and sometimes their family members, to attend college through tuition support, or tuition reimbursement programs. Although such programs vary from employer to employer, they include provisions for partial or full reimbursement for tuition and/or supplies after a degree credit course has been completed. Verification of enrollment and an official grade report are generally required.

Students are encouraged to check with their human resources department regarding any tuition support programs that may be available.
