Richard Gustin has been a member of the UW-Fond du Lac faculty since 1998 and has been teaching at the campus since 1994. As an undergraduate at UW-Stevens Point, he was a recipient of the James H. Albertson award, the highest student award given in recognition of outstanding leadership, scholarship and campus citizenship at that university.

Prior to teaching at UW-Fond du Lac, Gustin spent his career as a professional actor where he was seen in major roles at regional theatres including Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Chamber Theatre (Milwaukee), First Stage Milwaukee, Acacia Theatre, Kansas City Repertory Theater, Cleveland's Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Chicago's Ivanhoe Theatre, Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre and the Virginia Museum Theatre. 

He has directed over 30 theater department mainstage productions for the UW Colleges and teaches theater laboratory courses in acting, technical production and management along with introduction to theatre, acting, literature in performance and public speaking courses.

Gustin was awarded the UW Colleges’ Arthur M. Kaplan Award for his outstanding contribution to education of students at UW-Fond du Lac for the 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04, and 2005-06 academic years.
