Dr. Michael Jurmu,
is a member of the
Evaluation and the
Tenure, Retention and
Promotion (TRP) Committees
and represents the campus as
a senator in the UW Colleges
Senate. He has been
actively involved in the
development and
implementation of the
UW-Fond du Lac Strategic
Plan and Action Plan.
Dr. Jurmu has
published numerous articles
such as "Implementing
Musical Lyrics to Teach
Geography; a Simple Model," “A Morphological
Comparison of narrow,
Low-Gradient Streams
Traversing Wetland
Environments to Alluvial
Streams,” and “Applications
of GIS for Public Surface
Water Supply Systems.”
His many presentations
include, “Teaching Skills
and Content: An

Dr. Jurmu
is also involved with the campus
initiative of service-learning
for his students. He not only
has incorporated a
service-learning component in
his Weather & Climate course, he
recently presented his design at
a service-learning conference at
Marquette University.
Dr. Jurmu
advises 25 students and has
been a member of the campus
“Sunshine Club” for
several years.
