Jill (Heimerman) Burdette (‘90-‘92)

Provider Network Manager

Bachelor’s degree, Social Work, UW-Oshkosh

Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Quality, Marian College

"After graduating from New Holstein High School in 1990, I wanted to continue my education and go to college. After looking at a few colleges, I decided to attend UW-Fond du Lac because of the small class size and the “small town-family” atmosphere. My time at UW-Fond du Lac was wonderful. I met many people and now have become very involved in the Fond du Lac community."

Bobbi (Barbara) Miller ('91-'95)

Business Services Manager, Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, Neenah, WI

Bachelor of Business Administration, UW-Oshkosh, 1997, Summa cum laude

"Attending UW-Fond du Lac as a non-traditional student was a wonderful experience that helped prepare me for success. The staff at UW-FDL had high expectations for students and enabled students to meet course expectations.  Because of the small campus size, it is possible for students and staff to engage in a relationship building process that increases overall success. While I ultimately majored in human resources, the education I received has allowed me to work in other professional capacities due to understanding collaborative efforts, critical thinking, and strategic planning.  s our country continues to face changing workforce challenges, the education I received is integral in providing the framework that allows me to embrace continuous education and change."

Jennifer (Radtke) Sloane ('91-'93)

B.S. in Chemistry from UW-Oshkosh

M.S. in Biology from UW-Oshkosh

"With small class sizes and a 'community atmosphere,' UW-Fond du Lac calmed my fears of transitioning into the college environment. My time as a student at UW-Fond du Lac increased my enthusiasm for learning and gave me a great foundation to transfer to a larger college. It has been a delight to return here as an instructor to encourage other students in the same way!"

Brenna Garrison-Bruden ('92-'97)

Former Chair, Fond du Lac County Board

Elementary School Teacher

2004 UW-Fond du Lac Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient

Brenna completed her foundation courses at UW-Fond du Lac and then transferred to UW-Oshkosh where she earned a degree in education. She currently team teaches grades 2-3 at an elementary school in Oshkosh where she is known for her use of innovative techniques with students.

Brenna attended the campus for a semester in 1981, returning later as a non-traditional student. Both she and her mother were non-traditional students at the same time and she remembers doing "group homework" with her husband also in school at that time.

Joseph Braun ('93-'94)

Director of Finance & Development - Fond du Lac Area Foundation

Bachelor's degree - Marian College

Master's degree - Marian College

"I feel that the time I spent at UW-Fond du Lac was very beneficial to me. At a time when I was unsure what path I aspired to take in life, the UW afforded me structure and an excellent small campus atmosphere to begin my post high school life."

Linda Trent ('93-'96)

The reason I chose UW-Fond du Lac as a returning adult student was because of their flexible class schedule, small class sizes and affordable tuition. I had been out of school for 10 years and thought that because UW-Fond du Lac is a small 2 yr college, that would be a good transition for me.

I graduated with my associate degree in 1996. The staff and advisors were friendly and willing to make themselves available anytime for their students, which I really appreciated. Since leaving UW-Fond du Lac, I have received my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Edgewood College and I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts degree in Servant Leadership from Viterbo University.

For the past six yrs, I have been working with women with addictions and criminal behavior. I discuss with them their past criminal thinking and their addictive patterns and how to make better choices. While at Edgewood, I received several awards, “Who’s Who among American Colleges and Universities” and Human Issues award for my advocacy efforts regarding fair trade coffee.

UW-Fond du Lac gave me a solid foundation that led to my success academically and my advocacy for human issues at Edgewood College and Viterbo University.

William B. Everson (’97-‘98)

Lawyer, Everson Law Office, LLC

Bachelor of Science, History, UW-Oshkosh

Juris Doctorate, Thomas Cooley Law School, Lansing, Mich.

"After high school, UW-Fond du Lac allowed me to adjust to my first college experience more easily because of the small class sizes and the individual attention given by all of my professors. I not only enjoyed the classes, but also the camaraderie of the students.  We often got together in the student center and played foosball and cards."

Jon Fox (’97-‘99)

Inventory Planner, Mesaba Compass Holdings, Inc. (MCH, Inc.), supporting the purchasing/supply chain requirements for Compass Airlines (NWA Airlink) based in Eagan, MN.

Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Marian College

1998 Excellence in Student Government Award (from SGA peers)

1999 Dean's Leadership Award

"The time I spent at UW-Fond du Lac allowed me to grow and mature. The leadership experience of being involved as Senator, Vice President, and President of the Student Government Association is something that is unforgettable. The class sizes were the perfect size to learn one on one, know the professor and not be just a number."
